Wondering which way to go with your bathroom renovation?
You’re ready to move ahead on your bathroom remodel and aren’t sure which way to go. Your home isn’t ultra modern, or traditionally classic, so leaning one way or the other on the vanity won’t matter much. Plus, they both look so amazing. So what should you do? Go with a beautiful, traditional, wood vanity that reminds you of an elegant English castle? Or a sleek and modern cabinet that offers a ton of storage space because of the way the designer/contractor configured it?
Let’s start with the REAL information out there, because with “what if’s” you can go on forever and ever. If you can cut it down to just a few choices, you can make a decision.
First off, what amount of space are you talking about? Get exact measurements. How large of a vanity would fit there? Would it accommodate one or two sinks? Would there be room for cabinets too? What do you have for a mirror and lighting now, is that being remodeled as well? If you know your limitations and can figure out what your exact options would be, you’ll have a better idea of what the end picture will look like and can choose.
Next, how much space do you need? How will you use the space? Will it be clean and organized or a cluttered mess (like my home, lol). A lot of modern cabinets can be exposed and visible meaning you’ll have to keep things neat and organized. However, you can have an ultra modern cabinet, vertical for a lot of hidden storage if you don’t want to keep anything out in the open. Whereas if you’re going with a big traditional cabinet, what you see is what you get.
Also, where are you now? What is the look and feel of what you’ve got? Do you want a HUGE change in the look, or to keep things similar? How drastic this way or that way do you want to go? Do you both agree on the type you’d like? The deeper you go, the more you want to make sure you’ll both love it, for a long time.
So, you know how much space you’ve got, how you want to use it, and the types of looks you want. Now it’s time to narrow things down. Get on pintarest or google and just do a search for images (modern and traditional). Only choose a couple and make sure they meet the requirements you set aside for yourself above.
Now it’s time to pick up the phone. Give us (or any contractor you’re considering using) a call and get their input. We can lead you through all the tough questions you have, give you ideas, let you know about budgeting and come up with an answer together.
